The Goon in "It's all fun and games til..."

Hey everyone,

Digging through the crates to find something to post and came across this old favorite. It's a Goon short I wrote and drew for me'pal Eric Powell. Eric had asked me to draw a back up story for an issue of The GOON, and let me write it up too, but the trick was that he would write the one and only line of dialogue Goon yells at the end. I didn't know what it was going to be either. In fact didn't found out what it was to be till way after I had finished the short.

Which made it all the more funny to me.

Anyway, here it is in it's unlettered, uncolored, state.

Best,
Mike

One of my favorite works of your Mike! Perfect character for you. Shows off everything you do best in storytelling, drawing, and inks!

Thanks man! It was too much fun...but then it's kinda hard not to have fun drawing The GOON. :)

I loved [and still dig] how "your" Goon was different looking and yet still worked!

Thanks Craig. I think most folks would disagree with you. I seem to recall a review that said something to the effect of "he aint no Eric"...which is true.

I think Eric was nervous a little too, but ended up letting me do my thing. It all worked out in the end. :)
