Merry Christmas 2008
Hey everyone,
My schedule has been insane, and I haven't had a chance to make a new card this year. Sorry! BUT, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Chanukah! I hope you all get to be with family, and just enjoy each other.
I leave you with this- Dominic the Donkey music video.
Thanks me later ;)

Secrets revealed!...part II
Rick Remender just revealed on Twitter that I'll be penciling the next arc of Fear Agent (with the fucking master Tony Moore doing finishes!)
I'm crazy excited to start, and wish I could show you the amazing designs I just got from Tony for the new Alien/Human hybrid that are introduced in this arc.
Stay tuned for more info.

Secrets revealed!...almost
If you get my newsletter (What?! You haven't signed up yet?!?!) then you already know what new books I'm working on currently.
Here are some sneak peaks of the art.
G.I. Joe - Origins
I'm taking over art duties on the new Origins series for IDW. Fun stuff! I'll be doing line art and colors on the five issue series.
Here's Duke and Scarlett
Star Trek Spotlight*
I did an issue featuring the tribbles!
Sturgeon River
My follow up book with UMBRA writer Steve Murphy. This one you already know about (if you follow the blog or newsletter) but here's another sneak peek anyway.
Oh, and I'll be finishing up One Man Gang and publishing it online at ThinktankComics.com
You can also sign up for my newsletter at ThinktankComics.com by entering your e-mail into the newsletter field under the "About Mike" section.
You can also check IDW Publishing's site for more details.
There is ONE more book I'm penciling for Dark Horse and ONE more at Vertigo which I'm writing and drawing that I can't announce yet.. you'll just have to check back later ;-)
That's all for now.
Thanks!
Mike
* Last minute edit - Apparently my Star Trek comic has been solicited! So, you know, pre-order it! ;)

Leopoldo Romañach
While I was in Florida last week we went to the Daytona museum. We'd been there once before, and there was a section devoted to Cuban artists that I wanted to revisit. There was this one painting I had to see again - "Italian Peasant".
The artist is Leopoldo Romañach, who lived from 1862 till about 1951. There isn't a lot of info about him online, but it sounds like he had pretty minor acclaim with his work. He won a Bronze metal in a French exhibition, and was in a few shows in Europe and Cuba - picking up a few medals here and there.
His work has a great Diego Velázquez (One of my favorite painters) quality to it. Nice find in a little museum.
Here are two of his paintings in the gallery.

On the way to Mass
I'll post more art from the museum soon.

Mighty B
I tried out for the Mighty B comic for Nick. I didn't get it, but I had a hell of a lot of fun trying! Here are some of my sketches from the try out.
It's good I didn't get the gig, cause really...my schedule is stupid busy right now. I mostly tried cause my kids and I dig the show, and Bill Wray (who works on the show) is fucking awesome.
