The Chronicles of Professor Elemental
hey everyone,
Hip Hop may have been born in New York, but it's traveled a hell of a lot since then. Hip Hop has no borders now and you can find great music being made all over the world.
Professor Elemental is an English MC who I'm happy to have gotten to know a bit. My intro to his music was "Fighting Trousers", which I instantly dug. I love the unusual approach to a battle rap song, and the good Professor may be playing a part but I'll be damned if he can't rhyme!
Don't believe me? Go check him out on Bandcamp,. Some of my favorite tracks; the Fighting Trousers remix by Mr Simmonds, Alright, and Pay me a Visit with the great Count Bass D!
The good Professor asked me to work with him on an upcoming project, and you can guess what I said - right? ;-)
More on that another day, let's move on.
Elemental is working on a video series called "The Chronicles of Professor Elemental", and is looking to crowd fund the project and keep it independent. If you're into it, check out the project's pitch page and consider contributing to the cause.
Thanks in advance for supporting the project, and stay tuned for more information on the project the good Professor and I will collaborate on.
Best,
Mike

Jean Grae - Cake or Death trailer
So, if you know me you know that I'm a like long Hip Hop addict. Grew up with it, and never grew out of it.
Some people bitch about the state of Hip Hop right now, but to me it's never been brighter. I feel like we're hearing amazing music every day.
I have a few artists who's stuff I buy instantly, no questions asked. Jean Grae is on that short list. No lie, she's one of the best ever. I've been following her music since hearing "Bum deal" way back when.
So imagine my fanboy-like thrill when she asked me to collaborate with her to help create a visual side to her new upcoming album - Cake or Death.
It all came about when she saw this piece I did of her, and she hit me up on Twitter.
After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I agreed to whatever she wanted to do :-)
Anyway, here's the trailer to the upcoming album.
Here's a link to the "Cookies or Comas" mixtape she released as a prelude to the album.
Oh, and check her out at JeanGrae.com.
We have more planned, so stay tuned. This gon'be good!

Mass Effect: Homeworlds #2 cover process
Think that if you're a cover artist you just draw a cover and all is perfect? Well, think again. Some times covers take a tremendous amount of work to get right. Here's an example of that:
Though it was hard getting through this cover, I think the end product is worth it. I'd rather fight with a cover and get it right than just have it come easily and end up with something I'm not happy with long term.
There you go.

Mass Effect: Homeworlds #2 cover
Hey all!
I've seen my second cover for Mass Effect: Homeworlds floating around the web, so I figure it's safe to share the first two covers linked up here.
All four covers will link up together and form a huge, unstoppable image. (It'll be the Voltron of comic covers! ;)
Here is the first cover's post.
I'll upload some process art for you folks in a day or so. Keep and eye out.
Best,
Mike
