It's two sided. It's about all these guys in comics who are always ultra mysterious about what they're GOING to do. Never really calling a shot, so if they miss they can pretend they weren't really meaning to make that shot anyway. It's a reminder to myself to NOT go that route.
But MOSTLY it's about my own goals to make the "shots" I've "called" (like getting the All City sketch magazine together).
It's about ME doing the things I've set forth, and do them right.
Just like when this pool shark I knew would call a shot, and sink it. When you can do that you get to keep the money on the table :-)

That is a great perspective. I'd rather see people take a stab at something, put their full blood and sweat into it and if it fails, by God, it failed but it was balls to the wall for them. And for that, there is no flack for.
But others, if you don't know where you're going, you'll never know when you get there.
Your post is a great reminder to anyone, not just artists, but anyone who has a passion about a project or goal or life in general.

This sounds like a prophet is telling us something that we're not picking up on yet. :)

Thanks, man. There's a hell of a lot of bullshit flying around in comics, and it can get to you after a while.
Just makes me want to yell "CALL YOUR SHOTS!" ;-)
