Hey everyone,
Continuing my celebrating of all things 2016 (See Pt. 1 here)! A few years back I decided to take a little break from American comics and began work on a French series with my collaborator and friend JD Morvan! The series was Oms en Série, based on the novel of the same name by Sefan Wul.
I couldn't believe how lucky I was to get to not only work with JD, the folks at Ankama, Comix Buro and the living legend Olivier Vatine, but I was doubly blessed by the reception I received by the readers in Europe! I was welcomed with grace and kindness by everyone in France, and loved drawing for them! (Seriously, the next person who says the French are "rude" is getting a stern talking to ;-)
I've been working on this series for years, but in 2016 this Sci Fi epic has come to an end. I finally finished the last of three installments in the story, which fills me with an immense amount of pride, and a little bit of sadness.
I hope to someday have the book released in the USA, but for now you'll have to settle for a sneak peek.
Enjoy!
Mike

The winners of the 2014 french Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire (Great Award of the Imaginary) have been announced, and the Stefan Wul line of books won an award! I'm proud to have contributed, albeit in a small part, to the line with my series with JD Morvan - Oms en Série.
The books in this series are truly gorgeous, and I'm honored and humbled to be in such great company. Thank you!
best,
Mike

Hey everyone,
A new exhibition just opened in France featuring art from the various Stefan Wul books The Comix Buro and Ankama published, one of which was Oms en Serie. I'm really honored to be a part of it, and thought I'd share some pictures from the exhibition.
Enjoy!

Mystère révélé!
In the French town Angoulême, there is a huge comics fectival held every year. It's like our Comic Con, only it's not limited to one big building. The entire town is taken over, and I assume there is more wine and fun involved in Angoulême.
The French publisher Ankama is at the festival, and is announcing an ambitious plan to develop the classic French science fiction novels of Stefan Wul into a series of comics.
The Wikipedia page for Stefan Wul.
One of these books is "Oms en Série", which loosely translated means "oms linked together". "Oms" is a play on the french word for "men", or "hommes".
The Wikipedia page for the book.
I will be illustrating Oms en Série, and I couldn't be more excited about it! I'm also working with a writer I've grown very fond of, JD Morvan.
I'll have more details soon, but for now I leave you with Ankama's promo video for the line of books, as well as the promo image accompanying the announcement at the Festival.
Link for Ankama's video page.
More soon. Promise :-)
Best,
Mike
edit - For some reason the video is down. I'll post it again if it gets fixed. Sorry.
