So, a few nights ago I could not sleep. I ended up drawing instead. Tonight, I can't sleep again and so I remembered I didn't post the stuff I drew that night (hence forth to be known as "INSOMNIART!" tm, copyright 2009 Mike Hawthorne :)
Anyway, here's what I drew. Worked on some previous pieces I had started and then began a new one. Some guy in a trench coat named Constantine.
Enjoy. I'm not.

Damn, these are great, Mike. Love Constantine's eerie, swirling shadow and the great linework on the inked drawings. At least once a week, somebody ought to force-feed you a half-dozen expressos just before you go to bed so we can see more of these...
Dan
Thanks man. Glad you dig it. Someone on Deviantart didn't quiet get what I was doing with the shadow, so I'm glad you picked up on it.
Also, I may mail you "un pet" for wishing more insomnia upon my weary head! ;)

That Hellboy is getting better and better. I like the shading you are doing on his trench coat. Instead of solid blacks, you are mixing some cross hatching in to indicate slight light hitting it. Cool stuff.
And the Viking picture is darn cool as it progresses. What is really good is that for a black and white picture, you really can tell it is cold and snowy. Playing around with snow in negative space is damn tough and your nailing it.
Thanks man. Yeah, the Viking piece NEEDED something and it snowed the other day and it hit me that's what it needed.
:)
