Pictures from the Universe of Stefan Wul exhibition in France

Hey everyone,

A new exhibition just opened in France featuring art from the various Stefan Wul books The Comix Buro and Ankama published, one of which was Oms en Serie. I'm really honored to be a part of it, and thought I'd share some pictures from the exhibition.

Enjoy!

FCBD a huge success!

Hey everyone!

The FCBD food drive at Comix Connection was an enormous success! Seriously, we couldn't have asked for more!

You can read more about it here.

Over TON of food was collected! I'm not kidding, a whopping 2000+ pounds of food was collected at the Mechanicsburg store alone! We don't have a final count for the York store (where I was) but from what I saw it was quite a haul!

You folks are amazing!

Thank you!
Mike

PS - Special thanks to Charles Rutledge who sent a cash donation for the food drive! You rock, man :-)

Free Comic Book Day event: Come out and help those in need

Hey everyone,

This weekend is Free Comic Book Day, and I'll be at Comix Connection in York, PA!

I'll be signing comics and sketching, which is always fun, but for me the event is really my opportunity to help collect food for our local food bank. Frequent visitors to this blog know that this is a charity close to my heart, and I'm always eager to help.

In addition to the free comics, people coming to the event with food donations get extra free goodies from the Comix Connection gang. But the person with the largest donation will get a free piece of art work from me!

More info here.

So, if you're near Central PA, please come by with your food donations. I'll be there with new Deadpool comics, as well as the FCBD edition of FUBAR I did the cover for. I look forward to meeting new people, seeing old friends, and pooling all our efforts to help people who really need it.

Best!

HALO sketches

Hey all!

It was finally announced that Dark Horse would be doing a HALO comic. I have a lot of love for Dark Horse, and think the property is in great hands there!

Months ago I was in talks with Dark Horse to draw the comic. I already had several projects on my plate, from both publishers in the US and France, so the timing was really bad for me. It didn't work out for several reasons, but it was fun to take a shot at the characters.

I have to admit, I've never played the game. So it took a lot of sketching to get familiar with the HALO characters. Here were some of the final designs I did.

Be sure to look for the HALO comics coming soon from Dark Horse!

Mike

The round up - Fun Signing, Deadpool loves Spidey, and GO JOE!

Hey everyone,

Been hella busy, which means I haven't checked in on your guys in a bit. How are you? All good? Is the rash clearing up? Good, good!

The signing event went amazing! I want to thank everyone that came out, and waited in line for me. You're all more patient and awesome than I deserve! Thanks! I'll have more signing news to share soon...

Deadpool is chugging along well. Wrapped up issue 10, and will start 11 soon. In case you didn't hear Arthur Adams is doing the covers for the series, which is a treat for me because the man was a hero of mine as a kid! Very honored to have his covers making my interiors look half baked! Check out his newest cover here.

You may notice that it says there that Spiderman will guest star in issue 10 of Deadpool there. That's right. Spider. Man. Pretty sweet getting to draw him with DP.

I've been posting progress pics from the studio over on my Twitter account.  Here's a taste of what you've been missing if you're not on Twitter.

I'm also working on some book plates for a special edition of my G.I. JOE book for IDW. Nice getting to revisit the JOES.

That's all for now. Talk to you soon.

best,
Mike

Live art demo, partying, storm troopers, and free art!

 Hey!

Tomorrow we  celebrate the 25th anniversary of my favorite comic shop, Comix Connection!
We have big plans in store (no pun intended) for the party. The biggest being that artist Dirk Shearer and I are going to try to emulate the masters below....

... by doing a live art demo of our own!

I'll also have some art prizes for folks who bring the most toy donations for the Children's Hospital charity we're supporting during the event. My man Brian Keene will be there, as will the Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion Star Wars

More info at the Comix Connection blog.

So please come by! Last year the event was huge, bug this year it's gonna be like a huge Harlem shake party... minus the Harlem... and the shake....

PEACE!
 Mike

Free Comic Book Day FUBAR edition.

Hey everyone!

Remember when I posted about the FUBAR cover I did for FCBD? Well, that was just the warm up colors for the solicitation. Here's the final cover as it will appear on the actual comic!

Steve Becker and Jeff McComsey really out did themselves with this! They pour so much love into the FUBAR series, and I think you'll all appreciate it on Free Comic Book Day, May 4th!

Make sure to look for this bad boy in stores!

More info on FUBAR on their site.
